Sometimes your medicine bottle has on it, Shake well before using. That is what God has to do with some of His people. He has to shake them well before they are ever usable.

I remember back in the 70’s when people were pushing the need to follow ones desires and the divorce rate went up. Many children were damaged by the frequent breakup of the family unit often rooted in self interest. Now there are people…
Reader’s Digest: Either God is (making Him the sole authority on marriage) or he isn’t (making government, culture, and society the final authority on marriage).
Long Winded Rant Below
The concept of marriage between one man and one woman rests solely upon the authority of God declaring it as the best way to start a family.
If you take God out of the picture (which America has precisely done) then alternate forms like gay marriage, polygamy (both polygyny and polyandry), group marriage (where everyone is married to each other) are easily justifiable as government—not God—becomes the final authority.
Citing studies, theories, or using examples of interracial marriage are honestly silly arguments used by both sides.
Also citing 6,000 years of recorded history as evidence is irrelevant as one could easily justify slavery and concubines (aka sex slaves) as acceptable customs that help stabilize society.
If God doesn’t exist, is distant (i.e. the God of Spinoza and Einstein), or inactive in the affairs of humans then there is no justifiable reason to deny 2 consenting adults the “right” to marry.
However if God does exist and is super active in the affairs of humanity then it doesn’t matter what my opinion, your opinion or what even “the experts” say is right and wrong as God becomes the sole authority for determining what is best for humanity.
So the question is ultimately less about “rights” but rather whose authority do you believe.

God is subtle, but He is not malicious. I cannot believe that God plays dice with the world.
Haha - “Bible fan-fiction” :P
He was also apparently ugly too!
“For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. (Isaiah 53:2)”
I wonder what would happen if someone painted/drew a picture of an ugly Jesus?
I’d probably buy it as it would stir up a lot of interesting discussions. ;-)

Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
