My Biggest Fear Is Now Reality

I’ll save you the video from my spiritual blog, but basically it looks like my country is being led by incompetant fools (to put it bluntly), which is (believe it or not) one of my biggest fears.

My fury with BP who is humerously called Beyond Petroleum (although they should rename themselves Broke & Penniless after everyone sues them out of existence) is increasing by the day as their actions have destroyed the lives of millions of people, not to mention thousands of animals (if not hundreds of thousands).

Despite my outrage over this oil spill (which the media is now saying the busted “pipe” is leaking 2 MILLION GALLONS A DAY!!!), I’m even more upset with my government, or rather their lack of intelligent action regarding this whole affair.

No one seems to know what to do, and worse, everyone is simply blaming each other for what is happening while more animals and businesses die thanks to the “black gold” in liquid form.

Basically it seems as if my President doesn’t know what to do, and ironically neither do the experts whose only skill is calculating how much oil is poisoning the oceans.

All I ask my leaders (especially political) is that they know how to perform their task, and if not then to seek out those who do.

Right now neither of that is happening in my country (at least on the Federal level), resulting in our country being help hostage by the stupidity of a few.

Perhaps it’s time I consider entering the green field (as a few if my relatives have), and try to find a solution to help us become energy independent from oil, instead of semi-dependent on it.

Note: Sorry for the rant, as I usually will publish those privately.

However this situation is getting out of hand, and I’m tired of “Oilgeddon” dominating the news cycle.

The iPhone Is Going To Be A Medical Device. Yes Seriously

Okay, I don’t have any spies inside Apple HQ (you’ll have to contact Michael Arrington for success in that department) but looking at last year’s clues I have the feeling that the next iPhone HD (aka iPhone 4G) is going to be classified as a medical device. Yes seriously.

Before I delve into the latest iRumor, here is a video from last year debuting iPhone 3.0 OS.

This idea apparently was inspired by a diabetic who pleaded Steve Jobs to make managing diabetes much easier.

Life Scan announced this app at the WWDC last year, but unlike the various other apps (ranging from multi-player games to enterprise apps) Life Scan never appeared in the app store–and Steve Jobs never breathed a hint about this app again.

I suspect that as soon as this app was revealed, Uncle Sam (or the US Government for you non-yanks) got involved, and that Apple and Life Scan had to go through some medical approval process before being allowed to mention this app again.

I also suspect that this feature (or app) will ONLY be available upon the upcoming iPhone (which could be called iPhone HD or iPhone MD).

Again, I have no hard evidence on whether or not this is true (so you’ll have to tap your own sources as Apple is as secretive as the Kremlin), but I have a feeling that Steve Jobs is going to unveil iPhone MD in a few days.

And when that happens, we will hear a loud, rusty, breaking sound, as Android devices everywhere are seen as “green junk.”

Why "V" May Fail (Hint: Interspecies Breeding)

Despite having grown up on a healthy diet of scifi, I fear that one of my favorite shows is about to take a cliff dive starting this week.

You see these two sentient beings below?

The boy is a human while the girl is an alien with human flesh ontop. They also like each other and apparently get “a little frisky” with each other in episode 3.

Oh, and by alien I mean this:

Basically they are sentient crocodiles with advanced technology intent on dominating our species like a cowboy dominates cattle.

With this in mind, it puzzles me that any person would find interbreeding with these overgrown intelligent alligators fascinating, but there seems to be a lot of these folks upon the Hulu forums (can you say ick!).

Since most (normal) people would find this type of behavior unappealing, I fear this show is doomed as it’s ratings will probably drop after the boys close encounter with the scaly kind.

I’m cool with humans being friends with aliens, eating with aliens, fighting with (or against) aliens and sharing a drink with aliens (blood wine anyone?).

But let’s keep the species separate folks, as interbreeding with aliens isn’t good for the gene pool–or ratings for that matter (at least in today’s world).

Love Without Sacrifice Isn't Love

sacrifice2

Why is it that people expect an unconditional affection without exchanging anything in return?

It’s almost like I’m demanded to pour all of myself with the hope and knowledge that I will receive Jack squat–or worse nothing at all.

I’m not exactly sure where this thinking materialized, but one thing is clear–it has to end.

Friendships don’t endure with this mentality, and relationships often come to ruin when only one gives while the other only receives.

Love without sacrifice isn’t love, but enslavement, which can lead towards an unhealthy attachment to the one “being adored.”

I’ve seen this countless times and quite frankly it sickens me.

People need to realize when they are being used, and once enlightened terminate the pseudo relationship ASAP (plus avoid any collateral damage that may result from it’s ending).

If more people understood this, half of the talk shows and most politicians would be out of business.

Is The Ticket To The Future Always Open?

Of all the televisions shows that I have watched since I was little, none have left a larger impression upon me than a Japanese anime flick called Trigun.

Anyways while watching the Trigun anime many moons ago, I came across an interesting quote from the main character, Vash the Stampede:

“The ticket to the future is always open.”

With hyperinflation (via massive deficits), swine flu and pychotic dictators preaching nuclear war against their neighbors, I sometimes wonder if the future is going to be as open and friendly as I always dreamed it would be.

Despite the seriousness of these issues, the US is as polarized as ever, with both sides making childish remarks against each other (such as “the party of no” or Telepromter of the US aka TOTUS) instead of finding solutions on common ground.

What ever happened to the help thy neighbor attitude, even if you disagreed with most of their political views?

Perhaps I am naive, but I do know that if we don’t figure out how to work together, the US will be finished as an economic power (not to mention a military one as well).

Which brings me to another quote from Trigun by Rem Saverem:

“And if you can keep your vision clear, you will see the future. What happens in our future is our own responsibility.”

I think it’s time we start working together instead of taking shots at each other, as if the other party were the full reincarnation of the Nazi party.

Because whether we like it or not, it’s going to take ALL OF US to solve these unprecedent times–and if we can not even do that then we might as well dust off our passports and start taking classes in Manderin (aka Chinese).
