Ahhhh…My Sister Started Her First Blog!

Geeks: 1, Norms: 0.

First it was getting a smart phone. I couldn’t convince her to forsake Verizon for the iPhone, although she did pick up a Blackberry Storm (which she later ditched for a Droid Eris).

Now she has started her very own blog at Everyday With NA.

I probably need to help her track down a new template (or help her customize a free one online).

Either way, welcome to the blogosphere NA (her real name is _____, but since death, destruction and mayhem would follow, I’ll keep her identity anonymous–for now).

Note: I wonder if I can finally convince her to sign up for Facebook?

I Am America? (Stephen Colbert)

So on my birthday (many moons ago) my brother bought me the book “I Am America (And So Can You!)” by Stephen Colbert.

Problem is, he bought it via audio form (as that’s his favorite way to “read” a novel), which I usually don’t like as most podcasts put me to sleep.

I was thinking of selling it and using the funds to purchase the book instead (it’s in mint condition), although I guess I could be a good brother and simply load it on my iPhone.

I guess. :-/

Happy "Feast On Turkey Flesh" Day!

Happy thanksgiving everyone! I want to express my gratitude for all my friends and geeks (whether your a tech geek, space geek, politico animal or “almost normal”), as well as the brave men and woman who are currently serving overseas.

While I’ll be busy feasting on the flesh of my favorite fowl (to the horror of PETA), I hope everyone has a splendid Thanksgiving with family, friends and pets–the non edible kind. ;-)

Did You Enjoy Christmas?

In less than an hour, Christmas will be over, at least in my time zone.

Aside from connecting with family, friends and those of faith, I am really glad that everyone enjoyed their presents (which is not very easy, especially in these times).

My mom and I (along with input from my brother) purchased a black iPod for my father, which is great since:

  • He is not into the geek world like me. :-)
  • It can hold all of his music, which he loves.

For my brother I purchased a movie ticket for Eragon (it was not that great) as well as the book Elder, which is the sequel to the book Eragon (which my brother explains is a lot better than the big screen version).

As far as me goes, the only thing I got was a camel backpack, something I’ll be needing next year as I go running/hiking through the green forests of my state.

With 2007 coming up, I am really exciting about the changes that are about to happen, although I can not legally highlight them here on this blog (sigh…we live in a world full of lawyers).

Anyways, Merry Christmas to everyone! And a happy New Year too!

Preparing Those Gifts…Plus A Video

Now that I am done buying presents (as long as I do not see another gift idea for a family member) I can now “prepare” the gifts for those receiving it.

Now I don’t mean simply wrapping the gift with wrapping paper (or old newspapers which I think is cooler) but simply personalizing them for my parents and siblings.

Some of it involves writing inside the gift, while for the electronic ones it means adjusting the gift to fit their tastes.

Sorry if I am sounding vague here (and not telling what I bought) but I do not want to spoil the surprise as I can not tell who exactly reads this blog online, other than via an IP signal.

But in order to justify reading this post, here are a bunch of YouTuber’s celebrating the holidays by singing The Twelve Days of Christmas. Enjoy!
