Mission Accomplished: Well Done Obama, Well Done

As you all probably know by now Osama Bin Laden has exited this life with the help of an American bullet.

Honestly this is a GREAT day, one where Americans have finally received justice against a mad man who didn’t hesitate to kill innocent men, women, and children.

For those wondering about the details, he was killed by a sniper in Pakistan, which was quickly followed by a short firefight with Bin Laden’s loony followers.

While I have not personally been a fan of President Obama, tonight I’ll celebrate Obama’s victory (as well as the troops who killed him) over Bin Laden.

Well done, Barack Obama. Well done Sir!

Why are you thanking Obama? He was sitting at his desk the whole time. The intelligence community and the military are the ones that truly deserve our thanks.

Obama was the one who gave the death order, which is needed before special ops can enter a foreign country without the governments permission.

He authorized Osama’s execution so he gets the credit. Yes, he didn’t personally pull the trigger but he did give the order (so the weight of the execution falls on his shoulders).

Bill Clinton shied away from that decision when he was in office. Obama did not. #end

I still think you’re giving credit where it’s not due.

All of the intelligence gathering was done by intelligence agencies. That’s years of work, which started before Obama was in office. The military unit that carried out the operation put their lives on the line to execute the order.

Simply saying, “Shoot Osama when you see him” doesn’t stack up to that. The level of commitment and effort are nowhere near the same. It’s not even as if Obama has somehow taken on some heavy burden that no one wanted by saying it. In fact, it’s a big boon to his political career and is improving his chances of reelection, despite the fact that, like I said, he didn’t actually do anything.

Just being in the President’s seat when something good happens doesn’t confer responsibility for that success. Obama is a great orator and he’s good at exciting public opinion, but the President is just the executive branch of the government. He’s one part of a bigger system of government and shouldn’t take all, or even most, of the credit for this accomplishment.
